Last July 31- August2, 2012, the MIMAROPA Health Research and Development Consortium (MHRDC), in collaboration with the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) held the Basic Research Methodologies Training at the Regalia Towers, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.
A total of 28 participants from the consortium's member agencies and SUCs graced the event.The three-day training with discussions focusing on the (1) overview of the research process, (2) formulation of the research objectives, and (3) identification of variables and collection of data was conducted by Dr. Ophelia Mendoza, PCHRD Consultant who is an expert on the field of research. After the given lectures, the participants were given time to revise and refine the general and specific objectives of the proposals and corresponding study and sampling designs for a much better research proposal. Dr. Mendoza also discussed basic data analysis techniques on the training.
A follow-up training on data analysis is planned to push through later this year.
