NO LABOR DAY | Dr. Ophelia Mendoza lectured on sampling and statistical methods on the second day of the Basic Research Methodology Training last May 1, 2013, labor day.

 

The MIMAROPA Health Research and Development Consortium (MHRDC), in cooperation with the Department of Health – Center for Health Development IV-B (DOH-CHD IV-B), pushed through with the Training on Basic Research Methodology (BRM) for Cycle 2 proposals at the Greenhills Elan Hotel Modern last April 30 – May 2, 2013 despite holiday.

The new set of budding MIMAROPA researchers were trained by Dr. Ophelia Mendoza, an expert on research and biostatistics. Nine proposals were endorsed by the MHRDC R&D Committee to undergo the said training. Proposals for the 2nd cycle came from Palawan State University, Marinduque State College, DOH-CHD IV-B, Occidental Mindoro State College, and Ospital ng Palawan.

The three-day live-in training was aimed at improving the existing research proposals of the researchers in accordance to the Regional Research Funding standards of PCHRD. A total of 20 participants actively participated in the training as they commented on each other’s researches apart from the Dr. Mendoza's remarks. Members of the MHRDC R&D Committee were also present to comment on the Cycle 2 researches. Upon revision, all developed researches, are expected to be submitted back to MHRDC on June 3, 2013.
